Dear Reader,
Today, Sequence No.5 is fresh off the presses and once again it is well filled with our case studies. These cover packaging problems we have solved using our standard TLM machine components. Case studies are always the best opportunity to get an impression of the performance of a packaging machine system. Or, one can get more involved. For example, one can read my article “The TLM Packaging Machine System” on page 12, or order the TLM brochure. One can also visit the Schubert homepage weekly to see what is currently in final assembly and honor us now and then with a visit. This kind of visit should be an annual, compulsory exercise for packaging engineers. We would be very happy to see visitors at Schubert, as there is no better place to experience modern packaging technology than at our plant.
If one looks through the new Sequence, they will notice that sub-machines are often mentioned in the case studies. A great change really has taken place in the TLM machines compared to the past. We have created standard machines we call sub-machines and, while we used to generate our packaging machines from TLM components, we now only assemble them from sub-machines. That cuts design costs in a big way and results in price reductions of up to 20 %.The only disadvantage is that it makes the machines somewhat longer.
On page 48, we present our transmodule. It will cause a sensation in the packaging industry when it is used for the first time in a packaging machine in the near future.
I wish our readers an enjoyable experience when reading Sequence. Please pay particular attention to the maturity of our machines, their outstanding design and their excellent accessibility. Make a game out of discovering how many components make up the TLM machine system. If you have questions, write me and if you are working on a specific project or case, let us get involved.
Best Regards,
Gerhard Schubert
